MY RECYCLING LIFE!!

This was a cardboard goodie bag which i made into a earing box. it took 2 hrs to make
Hi all, welcome back!! I hope you have been enjoying my blog!! Today's blog is about all of my recycled, upcycled and reused stuff..
How does this help me?
It helps me save money and not buying junk for the sake of it, it also makes me more creative!

This  is a goodie bag which I made into an earing box. It took only 2hrs

These earings were all given to me by various people like my mum and aunts which they used to wear in school and college. Hand- me-downs are good for the planet.

Here are some cardboard cereal  boxes and mosquito mat  boxes which I  have made into earing boxes and organisers! They are very useful also very easy to make.
Maybe you should also try making them!!

This is called a bum-bag..
It was made by my mum's friend Mala Aunty.
She collects old used jeans and makes it into bags!
her organisation is  http://ahundredhands.com/

I love her creative ideas! You should visit her website..

Below are my upcycled hand-me-down clothes.
The long skirt (also called pavadai) was my diwali  outfit
made out of my mums sari
The red skirt was given to my mum by one of her friends -
Shalini Aunty... I loved the skirt so much I asked my mum for it and she altered it for me..

If  my feet don't  grow over size 39
Shalini aunty said that she would give me all of her  GLAMOROUS heels!!!!
I have recycling plans even 5 yrs from now!!!!

My uncle is a lawyer
He has made all  his  legal paper into Notebooks  for me. I love these one-sided paper books...i need so much paper!
There is only one mistake which is that the binding is in plastic...
I have asked Vineet Mama to make the binding in cloth or string...

This is  my current lunchbox. It was my grandmother's from
60 years ago!! Just because it's old doesn't mean that it can't be reused!!

It would be great to hear your reusing ideas please share them with pics if possible!

So actually i'm not your barbie girl!!!

  3. Meera, what wonderful ways to re-use things! I’m a big believer in buying “vintage” furniture, as they say here, as much as possible. Someone’s trash might be my treasure:). I tried to comment once before but couldn’t- seems to be ok now. Keep up the writing!

  7. So true. We all need to think of ways to reduce, reuse and recycle, in that order!
